Located on the west coast of the Yorke Peninsula, Wallaroo is one of the three Copper Triangle towns famed for their historic shared copper mining industry. There were no copper mines at Wallaroo itself, as a result, Wallaroo became a smelting and harbour town. These days Wallaroo exists as a grain farming area and features several historic buildings. The town is on the traditional lands of Indigenous Australians known as the Narungga.
