General Information:
Arthur Highway is a sealed road in Tasmania. It goes from Sorell to Port Arthur. The route partially follows some of the earliest roads built by European settlers in Tasmania. A9 is the only connection between Hobart and the Tasman Peninsula, and Port Arthur. The route features a small spur within the Sorell town centre.
History:
- 1979: Change in route number to A9.
- July 2022: The Sorell Southern Bypass, which provides a direct link between the Tasman and Arthur Highways, routing traffic around the Sorell town centre, was opened to traffic. 2
