General Information:

Metroad 5 is a major arterial route in the inner western suburbs of Brisbane which passes through residential and commercial areas and by-passes the inner city of Brisbane, connecting the Western Freeway with Gympie Road and the northern suburbs. The route is a mix of divided and undivided arterial roadway.

1995: Metroad 5 replaced State Route 20.

28 April 1994: Kaye Street Deviation at Bardon opened by then Minister for Transport David Hamill. ²

14 June 1994: Enoggera Railway Overpass opened by then Minister for Transport David Hamill. ²

October 2006: Metroad 5 between along Western Freeway between Darra and Toowong was replaced with M5. ³
