General Information:

Tourist Drive 6 is a coastal route that links the Pacific Highway with the coastal resort area of Forster and Tuncurry.

At its southern end the road is windy and narrow, but the northern it is less windy and the most of the alignment is wider. The route services rural, residential and commercial communities and is mostly 1 lane in each direction, except through Forster and Tuncurry, which is divided with 2 lanes in each direction. The two towns are linked by single carriageway bridge over the Coolongolook River.

1959: Bridge over Coolongolook River linking Forster and Tuncurry constructed.

June 2018: Rehabilitation works at the intersection of The Lakes Way and Boomerang Drive, Pacific Palms, which involved reconstructing a 300 m section of road pavement. ²

July 2018: Completion of works at the corner of The Lakes Way and Boomerang Drive, Pacific Palms. ³

September 2018: Pavement reconstruction at Bungwahl. ⁴

November 2018: Reconstruction of 700 m of The Lakes Way, south of Seal Rocks Rd. ⁵
