General Information:

The Kings Highway is the main road from the ACT to the NSW south coast, travelling through Queanbeyan and several small NSW towns, connecting with the Princes Highway on the coast at Batemans Bay. It is one lane each way with occasional overtaking lanes throughout.

National Route 52 crossed the ACT border and returns to NSW after a few kilometres, northeast of Queanbeyan, before crossing back into the ACT west of Queanbeyan.

History:

1974: National Route 52 introduced. 2
May 1977: Canberra Ave Railway Bridge constructed. 2
April 1982: The dual carriageway deviation was completed, between the railway overpass and Ross Road. This deviation also included the northern section of Lanyon Drive. 2
2013: NR52 decommissioned and replaced by B52.
