General Information:
Metroad 7 began life as several roads strung together stretching from Wahroonga in Sydney's north to Heathcote in Sydney's south, with Cumberland Highway the name used bring all the different roads together between Wahroonga and Warwick Farm near Liverpool, from there the route reverted to existing road names including Hume Hwy, South Western Mwy and Heathcote Rd.
The final form of Metroad 7 was a shadow of its former self as most of it was decommissioned when Westlink (M7) opened to traffic, before eventually receiving a new number (A28) in the new alphanumeric system.
History:
- 12 June 1994: Castle Hill Road Underpass opened to traffic by the then Minister for Main Roads Bruce Baird. 2
- December 2005: Decommissioning of Metroad 7 south of the Metroad 2 / M7 interchange at West Pennant Hills.
- 2013: Metroad 7 decommissioned.
West Pennant Hills to Wahroonga
Intersection Directional Sign:
